About Us

We provide a forum for administrators, managers and students to understand and learn the inner workings of Microsoft Exchange Server and its use in the industry.

Background Info

Welcome to the Boston Area Exchange Server User Group Web site. We have in store many new and exciting presentations for the Exchange community that involve administration, maintenance and design on Exchange. We look at both the technology of Exchange and at some of the products that work with Exchange. The group will continue to discuss the path to Exchange 2010 from 2007 and 2003 (as well as from other email systems) and welcomes your feedback on how the transition progresses in your organizations. We additionally cover the Unified Communications products Microsoft Lynx (formerly Office Communications Server), and all the underlying and related technologies used in your Exchange environment.

What are the security changes, what impact will they have on organizations planning to upgrade, and has  Microsoft done enough to secure this platform? Beyond the patches and rollups, Lee Benjamin, Messaging Architect, ExchangeGuy Consulting reviews the ins and outs of the Exchange 2007 security improvements including Edge Transport, Opportunistic TLS, Reputation Analysis, Transport Rules (do you actually need an ethical firewall), and more.
